44hd in highboy

has anyone put disc brakes on a closed knuckle front end if so what does it consist of???THANKS

Do a little poking around in this forum and you'll find a bunch of threads on this topic. In general, the concensus is that you will need to swap axles to get disc brakes. The easiest is a D44 out of a '76 or early '77 F-250 4wd, as the spring perches and steering setup will be the same. These can be hard to find, however.

yea, just swap the whole axle, probably less work and money depending on the axle. i went with a d60 in my swap instead of the 44. figured i already had it out, why not?

It already had disk brakes and closed knuckle when I bought it a couple of months ago. I have never done a swap, so I don't know the details. I should have my gallery going in a few days so I can show pics of it.
