What years made what changes?

I'd like to find a chronology listed somewhere that shows what engines, trans, etc were in B-II's in the various years. Also, when and what improvements were made, such as power windows, electronic trans case shifting, etc. I realize some of these things may not be considered improvements, but I'd like to know what was done and when. I've looked around the net and in the two main BII newsgroups but can't find the info I want. Thanks, Jerry

Heres what I have off of the top of my head:
86 was the year for fuel injection, the 2.9 and i think the 5 speed also the accursed A4LD.In 89 the new front end/interior came out Throttle bodies also got smaller bores in 88.I know they had power locks/windows in 86 already but not sure about before.Don't know when the eddie bauers came out.Thats all of the signifigant changes I know

Thanks so far, hope to find more info. Was the manual transfer case still available in 89-90? I'm interested in towing behind a motorhome but I think there is a problem with the electronic transfer switch. I think I read an article somewhere on how to bypass this to get a neutral position but can't remember where. Reason for all this is that I'm shopping for a BII, prob 89-90 and want to make sure its set up right.

I posted this a while back:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...d.php?t=291393

It shows some stuff.

I don't believe manual t-case was available in 89-90. That's where they switched to auto, but some people have been cutting up their BII's in order to swap in a manual.

Manual/electric transfer cases

Thanks, Romer, thats good information. I had hoped to buy an 89-90 but if they only made the electronic transfer switch, I may have to look for an 88. I want to tow it 4 down, and the pages I have from an 89 manual says that with the "touch drive" transfer case you can't go over 35mph. But they also say that with the manual transfer you can go 50, so I think that means they did make a manual transfer case in 89.
Also, I think I read a post somewhere that told about altering the electric switch so there is a neutral position and allow it to be towed faster. Anyone have any information?
