I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get information on Bronco II specs and body designs for each year that they were made. Pics would be very usefull.
I can give you a list of the different things that each year offered.
In 84 they had everything the full size Bronco had, with double wall construction hood, doors, roof, box sides and tailgate. It had twin traction beam front axle, 4-speed manual tranny, and 2.8L V6 was standard.
In 85, had same styling, except this year they had standard full instrument panel, transfer case skid plates, and had a 5-speed tranny. You could get a 2.3L diesel 4 cylinder.
In 86 same styling, but had a 2.9L EFI V6, and this year they offered more paint colors and 2-tone paint schemes.
In 87 ABS rear wheel braking was standard on all models. 4x2 wheel drive was now available. It had an optional electric transfer case shifting and the Touch Drive system.
In 88 the XL Sports model was availbale. White-lettered tires, deep-dished cast alum. wheels, tach, brush/grille guard, fog lamps, black front bumper and black tubular rear bumper combined to make the XL an off-road truck.
In 89 They had a completely restyled front end which was similar to the F-series design. Automatic tranny shift linkage was moved to the steering column. A floor-mounted, rear seat heater was only available on the B2
In 90, there was nothing changed except, there were very few made, and the production year ended in February of 90.
I have a 90 and my front axle looks like a D28, the axle identification sticker is gone and the one in the door panel is gone too. I figured it with the nimber of bolts holding it, I got 12 and a D35 as 10....

Is it possible ?
Yes its possible to have a D28 front axle. Not all the 90 Moldels had D35 but thats the only year Ford put it in the BII.
In 89 the BII also changed to a single inside tank fuel pump from two. Vent windows disappeared. Dash completly changed.Front end was completly changed. Automatic on floor went to column. The engine remained basically the same. Some say the shocks changed on them was also changed. I have an 89 & my son had an 88. So tried to remember all the differances.
89 and 90 have no body changes from each other. 82-88 had basically the same body, but things were changed like bumper packages, and trim levels. I did forget to mention about the D35 axle change, they were changing from B2 to the Explorers, and already had in the D35's, so they put them in. Most 90's have the D35, but I guess it is possible for it to have in the D28. Also the body on the 89 & 90 is wider than 82-88. And the B2 was the widest mini-SUV at the time. People also think that the B2 and Ranger's shared body parts, such as hoods and whatnot, but the B2 had a wider hood also. I feel likt I'm forgetting something, but can't remember what it is...
