Marked diesel ??

I recently almost ran out of fuel.. I ran into a guy with a tidy tank in his work truck and asked if I could grab a few gallons from him.. So I threw a bit in just to get me to the gas station.. He told me it was marked diesel for his excavator.. So my question is.. Once I burn that fuel is there any trace of the die still in the truck.. I don't want to get in trouble for running the wrong colour of fuel.. Thanks Russ

My understanding is that it takes several tank fulls to dilute the color out.Run it as low as you're comfortable with before filling up for a few tanks.

it will show for quite a while, depends on how bad they want to find it. Most of the time if you blend it you can get by, IF they don't look to close. They can send it in to detect any dye, or check fuel filters ect. In your case, fill it up, run it out, fill it up, change the filter and forget about it.
