Cavatation?
I see alot of peolpe talk about additives and cavation.Do the additives stop cavitation and what does cavation do to the engine? I have the green stuff that came in it, I have had to add some do to a hose leaking but the stuff i bought says nothing about additives, its not the dex-cool, I heard that was bad.I was going to convert to zertex-gold, but was told it wouldnt do any thing for me.Any help would be great. Thanks

Look for low-silicate antifreeze. There are several different kinds. The Zerex in the white jug says it right on the label. You'll need to put in additive in the proper concentration. Get some test strips and see what you concentration level is, then add accordingly.........

The short answer is that green coolant needs a Supplemental Coolant Additive to prevent cavitation, which can etch a hole through a cylinder wall from the coolant side. Go to Ford. They will test the coolant and see if it needs SCA added because you replaced some of the coolant. If the coolant is more than 3 years old, replace it all first.
