Throttle cable

Is it normal for the throttle on a ranger 87' 2.9 to be visible? Its up at like the top of the engine on mine. Im probably bein stupid but im new to this "engine" stuff lol.

???? It has to go to your throttle body somehow.... You should notice that Ford doesn't really attempt to hide anything considering the mess of wiring..

On the 2.9, where the throttle cable connects to the throttle body, there should be a black cover that bolts on over it.

I just figured it would be hidden. I know how it works but i figured it would be a little more complex. Anyways theres like a peice of lead sticking out under it that looks like it stops the throttle thing(arm thing??

) from going as far as it can. Maybe like a cheap rigged limiter but i figure its probably got another purpose. Anyone care to explain? I wish i had a digital camera so i could just snap a picture.

It sounds to me like someone has done a "JOE BOB" fix to it. Anyway, there should be a spring loaded adjusting screw at the front of the throttle body that the throttle lever should it.
