Low Voltage?

As luck would have it I accidently hardwired a speeder meter (radar detection device) in my beast upon purchase in March. The last 2 or 3 starts the speeder meter displays low voltage while the glow plugs are waking up.

No delay experienced when starting. Everything seems normal, but have never seen this before. Currently @ 11,600 + miles.

It is hardwired to the cigarette lighter and is constant-on. Could this little device be pulling down (2) batteries at this stage in their young lives?

I would imagine that the warning on you pre-emptive braking device ( ) is calibrated for the voltage of a gasoline engine; our diesels (because of the glow plugs, as you said) will have a larger voltage drop at startup. This is the purpose of the secondary battery; extra amperage will keep the current up when the voltage starts dropping off.
