I've got a question on the front hubs on a 1999 Expy...I noticed that in my owners manual, there is no proceedure to unlock the 4x4 hubs (as there is in my explorer). The Expy has A4WD...now, does this mean that the hubs are always locked?
Does that also mean that there can never be an issue of the front hubs not locking due to the vacuum system not working (the system that locks and unlocks the hubs)?
I ask because I have a 99 Expedition and I was going to ask the guy the does the work on it for me if it would worth it to put manual locking hubs on it. The reason that I was going to ask is because I plow with it, and I don't ever want to be in a situation where I can't use the 4x4 because the front hubs won't lock.
I guess that if there is no vacuum system in the Expedition, and the hubs are completely locked all of the time (ie: can never get unlocked), the I have nothing to worry about (I'm a worrier!)
