Brushing your teeth

Do any of you leave the water running when brushing your teeth, or do you shut it off?

In the past, I've left the water running at full blast. But, in recent years, I've been more conscious of my water usage. I leave it running, but not at full blast.

As soon as I moisten up the brush before the paste goes on, the water is turned off. No need to waste the water just because I can.

It depends on how lazy I'm feeling at the time.

I think it's rather arrogant for a person to leave the water on while not using. It takes far less energy for one to turn off the faucet than to recirculate, filter, and pump the wasted water.

I'm sure it'll be different if we had to go out and carry back water by the buckets, like in the third world countries.

turn water on, moisten brush, apply toothpase, moisten toothpaste, turn water off, scrub scrub scrub, turn water on, spit, rinse, wash toothbrush, and rinse one more time, and turn water off.

I used to turn on the shower, get my toothbrush ready by one of the above mentioned means, and then finish brushing my teeth in the shower. I would then rinse out the toothbrush, and toss it from the shower to the sink to be put away after I got out of the shower. I quite using this method after my toothbrush took a crazy bounce one time, and landed in the... toilet!!

never saw the point of leaving the water on. Always shut it off, just seemed pointless and wasteful, even though I am on my own well.

You know the toothbrush was invented in ...(Enter any state you wish, Arkansas was the way I heard it...)

Otherwise it would be called a teethbrush!

If I am the first person to use the water, I'll leave it on to get warm. If another family member has just been in the there, I turn it off. I hate cold water on my teeth. I have however used the toilet to clean my brothers toothbrushs before. To this day they still don't know and that was over 30 years ago.
