the only local group (that I know of) is the blacklist 'wheelers assoc... check it out, www.blwa.org ..

I was going to go on a ride with them, but my f150 with 29" tires would have probably sucked...

Just wanted to get back on topic....

I measured my axle tube yesterday, it is 3.5". I assume Dana 70??

It had a "2" stamped on some of the webbing on the passenger side....

and the bottom looks ugly and lumpy like ivan's 70 .

You're giving my axle a complex. Sounds like a 70.

Last I knew, there were only 5 options for the dana 70- open, Powr-Lock(limited slip, but a damn good one!)Detroit Locker, ARB, and the elusive and possibly ficticious spool.

I really do think that in the next year we are going to have another selectable to chose from for the D70...

It would be nice. However, in the rear, I'd rather live with an autolocker, and not spend an extra $300 on a selectable...

to get an ARB, new bearings, gears, and compress, you are talking about $1200 or more, and that isn't even counting labor..

If i had press and bearing pullers, I probably wouldn't care. However, labor would probably be another $300-400 since it is a Dana [a big one at that!].. I had a ford 9" done for $150.. but it is actually simple enough I could have done it..

Bwahahaha

It even looks like I have a blonde mullet ala Joe Dirt. Priceless. A special thanks to Ivan for opening this can of worms, and to Bremen for giving the inspiration for my next hauler. Sigh...now I have to hunt you all down and crush your skulls in with my bare hands
