My son bought a 1995 explorer with the key pad door lock. He did not get the combination to use it. Is there any way to reset this to a new code without knowing the old one? thanks for any help (BTY this comes after he locked himself out yesterday)
Just remove the rear left hand panel, where the jack is. The module should be able be seen ( grey or alum box, 6x6 in size). It has the sticker with a number there.
I found the number on a sticker way back inside that same panel where the jack is located. Open the panel and look towards the front of the vehicle.
The first number I found in the same area described by CdnSoldier didn't work on mine either (96 Explorer). The sticker I found was nearly impossible to read. Even with a flashlight I had to squint and try to guess at what I was reading. After a few tries, it did work however. Hope this helps.
