Hi All,
I have a '35 1/2 ton that is all stock. The lever action shocks need rebuilt. Can anyone tell me how this is done? Or, are there any manuals that contain the procedure to rebuild these?
Hi SB,
If u do a search for Houdaille shock absorbers on the net. U are bound to find heaps of info.
Also companies that rebuild them too.
Hope this helps.

Hi Jailbar,
Thanks for the info.
On one of the web sites, sounds like in addition to a thourough cleaning the shop turns down the shaft, then installs new oversize bronzs bushings and seals.
If any one knows where I can get detailed instructions on the rebuilding procedure, I think I can do it in my shop as I have a lathe and mill.
But then again, maybe I should just open one up and give it the old college try.
Hi SB,
The best site for rebuilding, I found, was thegeocities/motorcity/garagesite. Has lots of pics & info.
Good luck with your restoration!
regards
