Are the Y-Block heads (Truck) all the same, say from 1955 to 59? I have a 292 and one of the heads I noticed today has a crack in it. I have 2 more sets but they are 272 and are from a 1955 model. Will these heads interchange?
You should use the same casting ID in order to have equal compression between sides.
That being said Ive seen a perfectly running 292 with G heads on one side and C on the other! But that was in a F600 that didnt ever see much over 30 mph.
ok, I will check the casting numbers on the ones I have and try to find a match. Does anyone know who may have a 292 head for sale? thanks for the help.
My casting number is COTE which Is a 1960 model head.
C0TE is a peanut valve head, not good for much of anything except low end in a slow moving big truck.
ECZ-A and -C are fairly common out here wheras everyone thinks the large valve heads are their 401K
