Funny, I was going to post this tonight after another cart vs. buggy discussion with my wife, and I see another thread about shopping carts on here. I didn't want to hijack that one, so...
Do you call shopping carts buggies, baskets, or carts? My wife calls them buggies, as does her whole family down South. I say horses pull buggies. I never heard them called anything but carts before I met her. Is it regional or what?
Anyone from the South want to chime in here? She says a girl she knows from Texas calls them buggies too. I wonder where that term originated as far as grocery carts go.
They are carts up here in the Pacific Northwest, baskets, as ryaneverk2 says, are the little things with handles.. Buggies are pulled with horses around here.... I cant say about Texas? Anyone?
ok i'll bite, here in knoxville you can go to most any grocery store and you will here them called buggies. a friend of mine said that is what you push around the store and put your dopes (soda's) in.
