Things i do when I buy a used vehicle:
1. get a manual for it, like haynes or something.
2. all fluids flushed and drained, never know, it may have been neglected.
3. new tires, unless the current ones are relatively new, in that case I get them rebalanced. and I also check for alignment problems.
4. I also inspect the brakes, If they look questionable, they get replaced.
I've owned 5 rangers with various engine tranny combos, Including the mentioned above, they are all fine machines with very few problems.
Unless it was abused, general maintance should be your only problem.

yes the tires are brand new. there some off brand(trail buster) but there new and they provide real good traction in mud. it just had an oil change before i bought it. maybe 300 miles or so. the brakes dont made any noise, it dont pull either way when you step on the brakes, and it dosent wander on the road. my only concern tho, is that once in a great, great while, when you go to shift into reverse it will grind alittle. like i didnt push the clutch in all the way. im hoping that the last person who owned didnt ride the clutch the whole 63000 miles and wear it down to nothing. i have cheacked the clutch fluid a couple of times and found it to be fine. do you think i should have this cheacked out now or not worry till it becomes a persistant problem. it shifts real smooth, its not overly tight or rough which is what gets me. has anybody heard of this or had the same problem?
