Best for the money would be a Diablo Chip. I have one, expect an 8-10% HP increase and 10-15% torque increase so for a Sport Trac 16-21 HP and 24-26 ft-lbs. Things to know about chips, they require use of premium fuel but you will get an offsetting increase in mileage as long as long as your foot doesn't get to heavy enjoying that added power. The chip itself won't void a warranty. If you have an auto tranny it will raise shift points and increase the firmness of shifts if you're into the throttle.
Check out motorhaven by clicking on "Parts Shop" in the upper right corner of this screen and you can see what they are all about. I have one and love it. Chips are generall tuned to be run on 91 octane, but many areas have higher (92-93 octane) available and if you specify that when you order it, can make sure to get the most for your money. They only run around $200, which isn't that much more than some air intakes that only give you a slight high RPM power increase. Chips will add power at all RPM's and good ones like Diablo and Superchips tune for all throttle positions, which really makes a difference in everyday driveability. Hope this helps.

How much does a diablo chip cost? How about the Jet chip is that worth getting? or does the diablo show the best results? One last thing could the chip be tune to use regualr 87 octane?
Jet's are not as good as DIablo. A jet chip has a generic program that only tunes at wide open throttle, where the Diablo will tune at all throttle positoins, and has a program specifically for the computer on your truck. When you order you have to locate the Computer Code so they can get the right program. Price is $199.99 for the Diablo delta. which allows you to change between performance and stock with the flip of a switch. A jet chip would run closer to $300. http://www.motorhaven.com/customer/home.php?cat=37
It can be tuned to run regular 87 octane, but it won't add much if any power, just give you better shifting. Some people get a tune like that as a 3rd stage, for an extra $90 or so. I would opt for a premium tune, becuase the gas mileage gain should offset the higher fuel price. If you are interested, post on the computer chips forum, Webmaster (Ken), who also runs Motorhaven and does the chip programming can answer any question you have about them.
