Idle air control valve installation

Aight I put in a new idle air control valve and for some reason my idle will jump up to like 1500rpms then gradually drop for some reason, is this normal or did it throw my idle timing off?

When my '89 first gets fired up it will climb to about 1300-1500 rpm then idles down. I see it as like a fast idle circuit on a carbbed motor.

My '90 does the same thing. Bought the truck new and it has always done it. Mine usually kicks down in two steps. Around 900 first and then kicks on down to about 700.

My '89 302 does the same thing, up to 1500rpm then 900rpm and then about 750. So that makes 4 posts with the same thing so I would say that this not a problem.

My 95 F-250 460 cid does not idle up fast like that, when it first starts from a dead start (over night), My Dodge 440 in my motorhome idles up real fast to start with when it's cold. The Dodge has a Holly 4 barrell card, the Ford is injected.
