There seems to be a lot of "play" in the rear tailgate handle. To lower the tailgate, I have to pull the handle up to the extreme limit of its travel, and even requires a bit of shaking beyond that to get it open. Is there an adjustment for the "play" or the travel so that it will open with minimal effort? I feel as if it is getting VERY close to the point where I won't be able to pull it high enough to get it to open...
I have a 1994 and I had to replace the tailgate latch mechanism (about $35 from Ford) and remove and grease up both side lock mechanisms. Now it opens like it was brand new. I live in the rust belt and rust was my problem.
