460 engine/tranny compatibility?

I have to buy a new engine. Lets say I'm getting a 460 out of a lincoln. On top of that, I hate automatics. I have a New Process 4 speed in my '65 that used to hook up to my 352. Will that work or will I have to get some other tranny? Suggestions? Are there any 5-speeds without granny gears that I can get? Or even with granny gears? I heard theres a 5-speed for the 1-ton+ trucks, would something like that work? Thanks!

The NP 4speed from the 352 may work with the 460 if you get a 460 bellhousing for it. The bellhousing bolt patterns are different on the 352 and 460. The 5speed that will work with the 460 is the ZF 5speed with granny first and overdrive fifth from a late '80's-'97 F250/350 with a 460. It must be from a 460 truck, not a 300-6, 302 or 351. Those engines use yet another bellhousing bolt pattern. Also, you need one from a 2wd truck.
