I have a 04 XLT. Estate Green. I would like to put a stripe on the side to break/accent up all that green. I would like the gold stripe off the older EB'S any place other than my Dealer to get it? We like the green but would like to accent it.
Autozone has some pinstripes. If you want the exact Ford design and color, the dealer would probably be your best option. An auto paint shop will also have a good selection of pinstripes.
Thanks for the reply. That about what I though. I was hoping there might be a site where I could get the OE stripe cheaper than through my dealer. Might go to a body where I have had work done and see how much they will charge to buy it and install it.
or......you might try a search engine to look for folks who provide tape stripe/graphics.
i have used stripeman.com lots of looks and choices.
there are also folks who stripe for a part time income stream. you might have one or two in your area. check the car dealers/used lots. they often stripe cars in the evenings or on weekends.
Thanks for your reply. I was just trying to find the factory stripe cheaper than the dealer. I am going to a couple of places who do striping tomorrow and see what they have. Thanks for the stripeman.com link
I recently had three panels on the drivers side of my 00 EB repaired (two doors and rear quarter). The body shop, after two attempts on their own, called in a stripe subcontractor, he got it wrong twice. Then the truck went to a second body shop to have all the work done at the first done right (the first shop was recommended by the insurance company). The second shop used up two sets of the stripes before getting it right. Moral of the story - those factory stripes are really difficult to install. And according to the estimates, they only cost about $50 a side.
Thanks for the info. I will probably go to a local lowrider shop and have them put a stripe on it. The factory stuff might end up costing to much if some one scews up.
