Exclamation Reprogrammer tracing

Superchips and the Diablo Predator can be traced when you take it in to Ford.
Ken, I don't know if you saw this on the 6.0 forum but several people are being told that any reprogramming (chips, tuners) can be traced when you bring truck to Ford. Didn't see any comment from you so I assumed you haven't seen it. Might want to check it out.

I read on the Superchips site that when the PCM gets reprogrammed by the tuner, it will set a code similar to loss of battery power. When you put the stock program back in, they say you have to read the DTC and clear it to go undetected at the dealer. Is this correct?

I have datalogged mine after installing the SCT 4-bank CHIP, and there are no codes stored. I will try to follow up on any codes that could be stored when reflashing. Remember, when reflashing, it is recommended you have pulled the FP fuse/relay and add a battery charger when programming. Both can trip a code.

While chips can definitely offer just cause in denying a claim... Very RARELY would a technician go past normal diagnostics without just cause (A code or other clues like performance mods).

Autozone and others will check codes, not a bad idea prior to service.

Wrong. The only thing left on CAN-bus computers is a date stamp.

Yes, this is correct. It just time stamps a battery code and after a period of driving that goes away by itself or you can remove it with the code reader of the Microtuner/Predator.
