diablo or superchip in a 4.6
I have been reading everything I can find on the diablo and the superchip programmers but can't seem to decide which way to go.
I dirve a 00 4.6l F150 extended that is stock for now. In the near future I wanna do a catback and FIPK type setup. Aside from that and programming I really dont wanna put too much in this vehicle.
I understand the diagostic advantages of the Diablo, but from a purely performance standpoint what gives the most bang for the buck?
Thanks,
BH

I'm in the same boat. '03 F150 Supercrew with 4.6L. I tow a 7x16 enclosed trailer at about 5,000 pounds to WV, GA, etc. from FL. Like to get better than the 14.5mpg avg. in town and about 9mpg towing my trailer. Better performance in the mountains is obviously a consideration. I like the 3 progams for the Superchips. Can you get "basic" towing/fuel economy/performance programs for the Diablo so you don't have to create your own? If so do you have to pay for them?
Thanks

I'm considering a Diablo chip for my recently purchased '02 5.4 simply for the diagnostic capabilities. I've had problems on previous trucks for years simply because I was hesitant to lay out $79.99 to let some shop hook it up to the computer only to hand me a list of recommendations for $700 worth of crap ranging from fuel injection cleaning to plug wires and everythnig else they can think of. Just being able to read codes will save me thousands over the life of the truck, even if I leave it in the mildest state of tune.
