What is the most memorable smell that you can remember?
This is open to all smells that are still fresh in your memory. Please don't tell me that you just ripped one off. That I do not want to know.
Mine would be.....
Ethonol plants.
Call me crazy or whatever. I love the aroma in the air when I drive by a ethonol plant. I don't know why for sure. I drive by one everyday & just love it.

Memorable? The smell of stale beer that you find next-to or behind an old tavern...its almost sweet. I used to have a garage behind a city tavern where I'd work on my Model T after school. I rarely come across that smell anymore these days, but when I do it brings back memories.
I like the smell of crude oil and also castor bean oil when it burns in a 2-stroke engine. I like the smell of damp, freshly plowed soil. I like the way babies smell (when they're clean!) I like the smell when my wife is cooking pasties. I like the smell of Play Dough and linseed oil.
For me, smell is the one sense that can trigger a memory that you didn't even know you had recollection of.
Hmm, gasoline, Kerosene (K1), crude oil, paint (laquer), paint thinner, pot (weed), oranges, limes, apples, well the list is just about endless... Most trigger fond memories.... Some not so fond.. Musty smells remind me of my ex (lived in her parents basement).
The best smell is the local bread company around 4 am when they are baking yummy I'm getting hungry just thinking about it Another is concrete just as the rain starts...
Good smells
1 Every time it snowed and school was canceled, my mom would bake bread. What a wonderful smell.
2 Christmas tree smell
3 Grandfathers pipe smoke (cherry)
4 Babypowder
Bad smells
1 When I was 19 I worked for a sewar cleaning company. The smell when you first crack open a manhole will live with you FOREVER
