My Grandmother (God rest her soul) made the best I ever had. It was like hushpuppies, only bigger, like big blobs of cornbread batter deep fried until the inside was just barely cooked enough not to be doughy. Nobody else could make it right... now I would just as soon have regular cornbread...

I very rarely get to eat the stuff since Mum passed away.

I really enjoy it with Honey & Raspberry Jam

I love Chili and cornbread, with lots and lots of butter spread on each bite of hot cornbread!

I also like to make Corny Bread...which has a small can of creamed corn mixed into the batter and then baked. Mmmmm...nice and moist! And with butter....unbelievably delicious.

I'm with ya there. Sweet cornbread, buttered...and spicy chili, cheesed. Now I'm hungry.

My wife uses a recipe that uses a bit of sour cream... makes it nice and moist.

Fordlover1951 - you gotta try cornbread with huckleberry honey on it... oh man I miss Montana, and I've only been gone 5 months...

when i lived at home it was me who made the corn bread mostly because when my mom made it it never came out right. We all most always had it with beans.

My granddad grew up on cornbread. They would take it and mix it with buttermilk and make three meals a day out of it. I had it a few times and was not impressed, to his consternation.

Cornbread just doesn't light a fire for me. Too many other high protein choices to choose from now.

Evidently there's two kinds of cornbread - northern and southern. The difference is that one of 'em has sugar in the recipe. That's my favorite. Don't know (or care) which is which, but I had 'em both and my sweet tooth won out.

There's more than that. You got regular cornbread, sweet cornbread, mexican cornbread (with jalapanos) and what I call experiment cornbread (when you add in something just to see what it's like, like that guy who said about the sour cream, or mixin honey in with it, ect).

My mom makes this kind of mushy stuff, calls it corn pudding. It's like cornbread, but softer. i love the stuff, mix in some syrup and I'm good to go.
