Exhaust brakes
Have a 2003 F350 4dr 4X4 PSD. 4 inch exhaust and K&N insert. Tow !3,500lb 5th wheel trailer. What's the scoop on putting an exhaust brake on my rig to help slow down the pile I'm towing? Any input is appreciated from the guys who know.

Technically you are not supposed to use an exhaust brake on the PSD. International actually asked Jacobs not to develop a brake for this engine. If you want an exhaust brake that will operate within a safe tolerance I would recommend one that uses the existing exhaust backpressure valve.

I bought the butter fly valve EB on EBay from SP Diesel. the delux model has a TC lock included with Plug in wiring. Can't remember the price but it was very reasonable when compared with US Gear or Banks which are in the 12 to 1400 dollar range. Read my response to the other post on here on the subject of Exhaust Brakes for all the info, but the bottom line is that the experience has been a good one and the service from the seller was very good. I think that thread was started by a guy called "big_Truck" or something like that. Right now it's on page 1 but who knows by the time you read this.
