Unhappy TROUBLE BIG TIME. problem with predator

I just got my predator in today, and when i plug the predator into my truck (99 F-350 superduty) I get nothing. looks like no power at all to the predator? What gives? Nothing comes up on the screen, nothing lights up, its like its getting no power.

$#%@ !!!!

so i replaced the fuse, and backed up the stock tune of the truck, then when it was writing the new program(85hp) to the ecu, it tells me that the upload failed. Now when i try to even set the truck back to the stock tune, it keeps saying "failed"... now my truck won't even start...

=( =( =(

I have to go to work tomorrow!!!!

What condition is the battery(s) in? Did you have all electrical accessories off while tuning, including the radio, interior light, etc?

battery(s) are in excellent condition... all lights were out, interior exterior. Does this mean I may have lost my stock tune completely? ugg, i hope not, i was expecting this to be a 5 minute easy modification...

No, you have not lost your stock tune. Its saved in the tuner before anything else is done. Call Diablo first thing in the morning and they will give you a reset code which will get it working, either with the stock or performance tune.

problem solved. the people at diablo are great. Turns out, a superchip was installed, and that was not allowing overwriting/not allowing me to write to the ecu.

pulled the chip. bang-oh. good to go. One thing i now notice... When the truck is shifting, i get a hardcore grinding sound, pretty scary stuff (feels like converter is slipping hardcore, is this part of the tune to make softer shifts? If so, I want it back to hard shifts so it doesnt grind). Is my torque converter shot? Is there a way to adjust the shifts with the predator and still run the 60, or 85hp program?

You can "Modify" and set your shifts to "Stock" "Firm" or "Hard". Before I installed tricumulator springs and the Sonnax valve I had the setting on Firm and shifting was good. Now with those 4 things installed I went back to stock for now. Directions are in the manual that comes with the Predator. Hope that helps you.

i set the tune to 85HP with "Hard" shifts, and the problem has all but dissapeared. For how long the tranny will last, I'm not sure... but it seems to run ok for now. It still seems to slip just a bit in the 2nd to 3rd shift, but I can deal with that for now. I dont have the loot to have a major overhaul at this point. springtime will probably be it.

thanks to everyone for the help

I would try firm and drive a little. If worse you can always switch right back to hard. Shouldn't hurt to try.
