Have early 90's Ranger bench seat in my '50 F1, but needs upholstering. It looks like the original covers come off easily. Can I buy black replacement covers directly from Ford or elsewhere? Thanks.
you want to reupholester them? or just seat covers? if it's the 60/40 split you can get seat covers at pep boys (as I was told). Reupholstering I don't know about, sorry.
I just bought and installed seat covers for my 2000 Ranger with 60/40 seats. Saddleman SUREFIT was the brand and you can order them from many internet sites like JC Whitney etc. however the best price I found was at http://www.buytruckstuff.com/. Click the SEAT COVERS link then near the bottom click the SUREFIT link. This is where I ordered mine from. Cost about $95.00 including s/h. They are very good quality, lined and thick. You have quite a few of fabrics to choose from. You can even get more expensive ones(ULTIMATE FIT) but I think these will suit you fine. Easy to install, just slip over backrest and web 2 stretch cords. Even has covers for the armrest. I am very pleased with mine.
All of those seat covers even the "Saddleman" jobs will not stay put and will begin to creep and crawl after a while. Do yourself a favor and save the $100 to put it on a new seat out of a salvage yard.
p.s. I have used the Saddleman seat covers b4 and they will look like "seat covers" do for a while, -then they will start bunching and shifting. They last for a year, -or maybe two.
-My opinion.
Thanks for using FTE!

I've been using saddleman seat covers in 5 different pickups I had beginning in 1979(using different seat configurations, buckets, bench, split). I never had them ride up or move. I don't know why yours did. I have a set installed in my 1984 S-10 that are over 15 years old and they are still in place, no problems. Thats been my experience with them. Thats why I bought another set for my 2000 Ranger. The person who inquired will have to make his own decision. I am very pleased with their quality and performance.
