Finally created a gallery

I finally took some photos, created a gallery and uploaded them

A couple got a bit truncated, due to bandwidth issues I think

I think I am going OK after only 2 1/2 months, especially since my knee problem kept me out of the shed for 5 weeks.

It feels like slow going to me, but my friends reckon I am making huge progress

I guess I am too close too it and can only see the problems and delays!

Whatever........long way to go

Mark

Nice start. I like the photos. They will be great for the before-and-after. I wish I had such a nice workshop! What's your plan? Stock? Modified? IFS? Relocated gas tank? Big block? Good luck with it, John

Before I read what tranny you had I thought it was an FMX. I have a question though, how does it fit with the original mount in there? I had a 351c/FMX combo before I blew up the motor now I have a 302 instead. I would like to use the original tranny mount if that works out but I had never seen it before. Everything looks great and progress is progress, you just want to make sure you dont have to redo it cuz you wanted to hurry the progress.

FMX and it's mount are just sitting there on top of the 48 truck crossmember

I am going to slice the centre out of the 48 crossmember and make two threaded bungs that I will weld into the sides of the truck crossmember for the FMX mount to bolt too.

I think this will work.

Otherwise I will blow out the rivetts, remove the whole assembly and install a tubular gearbox crossmember........but then I will need to make up a new pedal, mount and mastervac setup.

You are right about not hurrying things........measure twice, cut once as my dad always says.
