Sticking accelerator

Hello,

My accelerator seams to stick whenever I go into passing gear ,or when I push the pedal all the way to the floor. Any suggestions as to what the problem might be, or remedy for repair?

Thanks, Jim (1998 F-150 5.4)

Sticking Accererator

Mine sticks also but it is when you go to accererate from a stop and you end up spinning the tires. If you want to start up easy you first have to accelerate in neutral then put it in gear. any suggestions, or this part of an overall problem? ws

I would check the throttle cable where it connects to the gas pedal. Make sure there isn't something stuck back there and then lube it with some WD40. Also check the throttle cable where it connects to the throttle body. There is a braket that holds the throttle cable and cruise control, and make sure the return spring isn't binding up. That's all I can think of, hope that helps.
