Power steering hesitation?

I was reminded again tonite that the steering on this truck feels a bit different that the last two (both 4X2's). I've got about 2500 miles on this one and it seems that quick, sharp steering inputs, like in parking lots making a cut into a slot can cause the assist to lag behind the wheel. It feels like I loose the assist for a fraction of a second.

I was wondering if this is typical of the late model 4X4's because there are more parts to be moved or is this something that should be addressed at the upcoming 3 month courtesy service check?

Any input would be appreciated.

Yes, on a vehicle that new take it up with the dealer. It could be the belt slipping also, that will give the same feeling. The ackerman (or lack thereof) in the steering system will cause that also.

Thanks for using FTE!
