help!. i have a 86 f150 with the 5.0 fi. there are two vacuum hoses that come off of the throttle body and they are just hanging there open, i been looking at this thing for hours (yes)! hours, but cannot find where they go. any help at all would be great. thanks.
Both od these rubber hoses will go to the throttle Body, it doesn't matter which one goes where..(one on the side top portion, and the other on the bottom portion of the throttle body) Both are connected by a T connection there on top, and it goes all the way over to the middle of the vaccum hose connecter on the top between the air body that connects to the throttle body, it has a bunch of vaccum hoses connected to it also....
you will have to bear with me a little bit. I have the motor taken outa my truck right now, and my truck is now under 6 inches of snow.
The distribution block for the vac, sits on to of the intake plenum. From there, there should be a large main vac port, that runs to your brake boster. Then 4 smaller ones. One runs to the cruise (if equiped), one runs to the fire wall, and branches off from there, to operate the various vac systems, like your heater and a/c systems.
there should also be a vac line running to an air by-pass valve, behind the motor, to controll the air injection valve. There should also be a vac line running to the egr valve, located next to the throtle body.
ok, been haveing a boo see on my truck and my dads, looks like the vac hoses that come off of the throtle body, run down towards the emissions canister. My manual indicates the same. Hope this helps
thank you very much for the info. last night i tried hooking those hoses from the throttle body up to the map sensor, and the thing had great throttle response and seemed to run good, but had realy bad fumes that burned my eyes. could this meen something else is wrong. it has a bad hesitation or dead spot the other way. thanks again.
I recently rebuilt my 302 and was trying to find the same hose routing. I took detailed pictures of mine before I pulled it and the pictures revealed that these two lines go to a "Y" fitting and then go down under the intake and over to the plastic box canister. On mine there is a long plastic pipe that comes out of the canister and goes back about a foot and this is where the vacuum line connect to it.
