heater/ac vacuum controller

heater/ac vacuum controller
I have an 86 f-250 W/AC and an 83 f-150 wo/AC. can i use the heater/ac vacuum controller from the 83 to the 86? The heater is (hot wired?) in the defrost mode only. The vacuum manifold is disconnected.
If not, do i have to use a vacuum manifold from an AC truck to replace it??

no , with a/c the blend door is vacumn operated.Without a/c it is all mech cable control. you can only use a/c parts on an a/c equiped system on the non a/c system every thing is mechanically operated via cable.BTW all parts are interchangeable from 80-86
