sub box measurment?

alright guys this might be a tough one. My friend gave a me a truck sub box,he has no idea what size of sub fits in it, either do i. I'm confused because here are some of the measurments: from the place where the sub is bolted in..from side to side there it is about 9 inches.from the outer part of the silver part to the other side it is a little less than 10 inches. any help, the link to the photo is below.

why not just measure the diameter of the hole?
