gas gauge
of i have a 1986 f-150 with the dual tanks and my gas gauge doesnt work past a half tank and i dont think it even works then and i was wondering what woould be bad the sending unit or the gas gauge also doesnt work on either of the tanks so any help would be much appericiated. ps i need help becouse ive ran aout of gas 2 timesin the last week thanls

Do your other gauges work correctly? If not, the voltage regulator on the back of the gauge unit which is "snapped" onto the circuit board and one screw.
If other gauges work OK and just the gas gauge doesn't work, and it doesn't work on either tank past half, then the gauge is bad.
You could also luck out and find that the needle is just sticking. They sometimes get bent and get hung up on the face of the gauge. You might try just bending it outward CAREFULLY a bit.
