Grille?

Just bought a 54 f100. It has a 53 grille i think and i need the piece below the grille that goes over the frame rails. Is that piece the same for 53 and 54?

welcome trav,No they are not the same, the valance as is it called for the 1954 has two small indentations in it as the 54 grille has two teeth for lack of a better term that come down and meet the valance .the one the 53 is smooth becuase the grilles are very different
