i have a 1990 bronco and the tailgate window will not move up or down. you can hear the motor running so i gues the gears are not aligned. but now, a mechanic says the motor is not working and also it needs a new regulator, cost will be about 300 bucks. any advice?

 

Dealer only sells this as a package, motor and regulator for 300.00 Go to Junk yard for parts, other window motors from ford cars or trucks will fit, not sure which ones but last time I went to the junk yard I looked through a pile of window motors and found the one that was the same for 10 bucks.
