milemarker hub question
ive got a 1991 ranger xlt 4.0l with auto locking hubs. i just bought a set of mile marker manual locking hubs w\a conversion kit.the directions that came with the hubs mention nothing about the o-rings that are supplied with the hubs.when i try to stretch the the oring around in the outer groove it just pops off. is this where the oring should be?any body else had this problem?

If MileMarker hubs are like the Ford manual hubs, there should be an O-ring that goes in the outer groove of the hub to seal out water and mud. It looks like a flat round circle of rubber about four inches across. I used blue grease to keep mine in position putting the wheel on. Some people use RTV.
It might be possible you have an O-ring for an earlier model hub that is not needed on a later model or one for a Dana 28 and you have a Dana 35?
