I have a 1967 Ford F250. Got the brake lights, headlights, tail lights, reverse lights working. Turn signals will not blink. What can I do to get the blinkers to blink?
First replace the flasher bulb under the dash. Usually this is the problem. If this does not cure it then the switch in the steering column might be bad. This is $49.95 at LMC Truck.
I replaced turn signal switch, changed bulbs etc., Signals will not blink. Is there some other wiring connection elsewhere that can be messed up. At first I had no turn signals or brake lights. I only had headlights and tail lights. Put new turn signal switch in then I had brake lights, however turn signals still didn't blink. I took the dash off and looked at the wiring, it looks like there are some unconnected wires. Not sure what they are for/too. Wiring diagram really not very helpful. Is there a signal flasher in a 67 F250?
Kalamity, check all 4 lamps and sockets for corrosion and that they are the correct lamp number, 1157 all around. 2057 work great in the rear as they have a heavy element and less likely to break. Change out the blinker unit, i've found on my 68 and 69 they blink real slow so i changed out to a different unit that blinks at the speed of newer vehicles. The last statement is after you have a battery and charging system are at normal voltage specs, sockets clean and correct lamps. Check for voltage in the sockets, may have a bad blinker switch? Use a dab, end of toothpick size of anti-corrosion paste that's conductive (KOPR-SHIELD) made by Thomas & Betts from any electrical supply house to the base pins and brass body of your lamps. At the age of the trucks your working on, you may have many electrical problems, not just one. Good luck. Carl........o&o>..........
