cig. lighter

Anyone no offhand what holds the cigarette lighter socket in place? Mine is loose and I can't get my hand up in there due to gauges in the way.

There are threads on the back of the socket and a pressed metal 'nut' that tightens it against the dash.

I have sometimes been able to tighten mine. I remove the lighter an use my fingers to rotate the socket clockwise while pulling it torwads me. Pulling it pulls the nut up against the dash and stops it from turning.

It is a 2 piece tubular shape.

The outside sleeve screws onto the inside part of the lighter & with it's shark type teeth on the end, grabs & holds on to the back of the dash,

Hold the lighter in front with your left thumb & with your right hand reach under and twist the other part clock-wise til it's tight.
