I recently picked up my first Ford PU. I love it! Anyway, its a 73 F100 4WD, with a 360. It has manual steering and I'm not sure I like it. Here is my question...
What are my options on converting to PS? What pumps and gearboxes will work with my rig?
My father did tell me that he has a 77 F100 2WD with PS. I was looking at it and talked to a few people. The concensus was that it will not work with mine.
If I pull anything off of a junkyard truck, what all do I need besides pump and gearbox? Linkage? I'm looking for an easy conversion.
There is no truly "easy" conversion I'm afraid. but several people here have done it. Use the "search" option to find a relative thread. There's a ton of them.
Thanks for the reply.... The only search I could find was on the right bar, "Site Search" but when I try to search, it says I don't have access. Is there another search somewhere?
There's a tech article, link at top of page, about swapping power steering onto a F250 4x4 - your F100 would be similar but not identical. But the article will give you a good idea of what's involved.
