All of this talk about malfunctioning EBPVs and such has got me wondering, , As the weather gets colder up here in N.E. what is a good operating temp for my diesel? Is there a certain safe or happy range for the motor? I'm wondering if I should get the block off plates for the grill to slow up the cold air hitting the radiator. Besides the fact that it takes forever to get heat out of her on cold mornings will running too cool hurt the motor. Still somewhat new to the whole PSD thing. Thank Folks
Diesels like the water temp 180 to 200 deg. You could add a winter front or a 203 deg thermostat. An AIC works good for cold weather idling, this will rev your motor faster and keep our rig warmer in cold weather.
