Fog Light Switch

Anyone know, or can point out a link, to 'upgrading' the fog light switch on an 02 F250? I have already shaved the ramp inside the switch down so the switch will pull out to the fog position with the parking lights on, but the fogs don't come on. Does anyone know how to jump the wires inside the switch so the fogs will come on with the parking lights? Any help would be appreciated.

I had an old link that showed the brown wire jumped with the black and white wire, but, I have no black and white wire in the pack of my 12 pin connector.

Sorry, no answer to this, but would you or anyone know if the switches are different for 2000?

Huh that's weird. I have an '02 and my fog lights do work with the parking lights - I just thought they were all like that. So yours don't work unless you already have your headlights on??

No, they were never designed that way. I wonder if it was a half year swap or something, or the difference between a PSD and Gas engines.

Not sure on the switches bossman, take a pic, I could tell you.

In order to get the Fog Lights to come on with the parking lights you must have the Auto-Light Option or you can run a jumper wire, I will look for the picture and E-mail if desired. It only takes about ten min. to do and it works fine, However, your fog lights must be turned of at the switch or they will stay on with the high beams as well.

I have a front air dam from xenon, and to get the lights in it to work I had them spliced into a hot lead so they came on all the time. Next time I take my dash apart I will stick them on a switch in the cab. Maybe you could do the same thing?

I want to install some stock fog lights on my F250. I don't have a wiring haress and plan on wiring them up my own. My question is what size relay should I use?

If you buy the fog light kit from ford it comes with all the parts including wireing, Check to see if your truck has the fog light wireing on it from the factory, some do and that will make your job much simpler!

I checked, mine does not have a harness. Even if mine did have the harness I would have to buy an expensive new light switch with the fog light option from Ford. I would rather go to radio shack for way cheaper. The kit at ford is way expensive like $250. I found just the fog lights, no harness, for $99. Ford wants over $100 for just the harness. Nobody knows what size relay? Does anybody know how much current the fogs pull? I guess I could hook them up and test the amperage.

I believe mine has a 20 Amp. relay from the factory, E-Bay is a good source for fog lights, go to ebay motors and type in superduty in the Parts and Exc. link. there are always some there!

I think my harness is wired differently. I tried the jumper wire, and it just made my headlights come on with the **** in the parking light position. Although the fogs also came on in the parking light position. So essentially I would have had two positions on the light selector for my headlights.
