If you're really going to use that flatbed, I'd suggest something from the Truck-lite line or other sealed lamps. Get an AW Direct catalog, or go to www.awdirect.com and do some searching (right now, I'm having a lot better luck with the catalog in my lap than with the online search). You'll see they are available in round, rectangular and oval shapes.
I've had enough of cleaning and fixing corroded or dirty light sockets, dusty lenses, etc. When I rewired my car transport trailer, I went with all sealed lights, all soldered connections and a continuous running ground.
If I had more disposable income, I'd consider the LED versions. They use a lot less power, so I wouldn't overload the wiring of my tow vehicle.
I went to a wrecking yard, and got a set of superduty new take-offs. they are watertight, and have a weathertite plug. they came with just enough wire to wire with, and are color coded just like they did in 1979. I used a set on my 79 F-600 crewcab, and they look good. they had the same two mounting bolts that the original lites did.

i used the ones like lane mentioned, the part is, their mounted in rubber, and bump just knocks them outa place, insted of breaking them. thier's a pic in my gallery i think
I'm beginning to get tighter with my trailer, I lend it out all the time, and it often comes back worse for wear. if not damaged, then just filthy dirty. being a pastor, everybody in the church seems to think whats mine is theirs for the asking. I keep it landlocked in the yard now to prevent borrowing...
