The high pressure power steering hose fitting that comes out of the pump on my 1981 F-100 is leaking badly. A replacement hose only costs about 20 bucks, but would replacing the "O" rings correct the problem? There appears to be two rings or one ring and a shoulder seal of some kind on the fitting. It is flattened so much I can't tell which.
Have any of you guys ran into this before? How did you handle it? Has anyone ever replaced the rings before? I guess I could try replacing them before buying a new hose. If it doesn't work then I haven't lost but a couple of dollars and a little fluid.. What are your thoughts??
