I just rebuilt my carburator and replaced the PCV valve in my 360 engine from my 76 f250 highboy and I cant find where the PCV valve hose goes into? I thought it went to the carburator but there is no hole.
LxMan1 is correct. Check the vacume hoses that go into the base of the carb as someone may have hooked up the wrong one so there is no hole left. When I bought my 79 it had the crankcase vent hooked up to the pcv inlet on the carb instead of to the air cleaner. Some people unhook stuff and put where it don't belong when reassembled. Just something to check.
ok, but I'm still kinda baffled because the hose has a metal end fitting and the only openings in my carb back there are metal too. They dont accept metal hoses. The hose off the PCV valve is metal and only goes to a certain area so it HAS to go somewhere back there....I wish I had a diagram of where it goes so I can examine and compare it to my carb.....
you're right, your carb doesnt accept a metal hose! you need to put a small section of rubber off the PCV line to go onto the carb. That should solve your problem.
There is a 1/4 inch hole in the back of the carb that was capped off when I got the truck? Could this be for the PCV valve hose?? It is directly in the back at the bottom. Also, there is another smaller opening towards the top of the carb in the back also. It has been capped as well. Anyone know what that is for?
The bottom one is for the PCV, just use a short piece of hose to hook up the metal line to the carb. The top one probably went to the choke to help pull warm air into it.
