where is the pcv valve located on a 2002 explorer, 4.0?

 

On my '99 4.0L SHOC V6 it is located in the back of the engine, almost center, but towards the passenger side. It is accessible from the passenger side of the engine. It is hidden by the intake manifold and a hose that almost competely encases it. If you follow each vacuum hose off the rear side of the intake manifold on each side, the two meet at the PCV valve. And like I said, it is almost completely encased by the hoses, so it is hard to locate.
