i think you may want to use the money to stroke that 302 into a 347. the boss is awesome but it requires a ton of machine work and the whole oil system is different as well. it would be cool but problably very difficult and expensive to have done. you can get a 347 kit and have the machine work done for fairly cheap if you shop around. a 347 is very nasty if set up with right combos and would problably kill that boss for the money put in each.

the only parts from a regular 302 you can use are block and crank.everything else is different.even those parts are different boss crank is forged and block is 4 bolt main.

351 w heads

as i have typed my 302 is a 74 model however i was thinking i just got a set of heads off a 71 351w engine how hard is it to put thim on there ???

+ can you tell me what kind of work will the engine need to put it to that 347 stroker ?

what do i need to do to the inside of the engine

bore it is & if so to what

what do you think i shood have done to the heads have thim ported ?

& if so how much

what shood i do to the intake leave it stock or port it out

what kind of cam do you think would be good what kind of lifters

more or less i have a full engine right now but i need to take that stock 302 engine & make a monster out of it i dont need to make 800 h.p. i would like 350 to 450 would make the little imports hide lol

that kind of power is easy from a 347. i believe the block needs to be bored .030 and may have to be clearenced. the rods, crank, and pistons come as a kit. check with your local machine shop to see what they need to do. the windsor heads should help alot over stock, and as far as the rest of your parts go you need to decide what comp.ratio and rpms the motor will be capable of and get a cam to match that along with the weight and gear ratio of your vehicle. the rest can be built around that.

more

how good is a 74 block i know it is not as nice as a 69 would be but is it as bad as a 80 ? or is that a nice block to start with

+ as for the rpm range most of my cars/truck where mid 70's big blocks for the most part moparts wiht red lines of 4500 to 5500 so i would like to out do that
but i dont know what would be a good range

as for cam rocker arms & lifters can i use roller rocks lifters & a roller cam in that engine & if i can is it evin worth it for the price ?
