Ok I got the Perdator, remote start, and geting the pre-luber, and will upgrade the exhust when I save some more money. So what gauges will I need. Thanks
Pyrometer, boost, and tranny are nice. Check out the X-Monitor, it is a digital gauge that has all three in one compact unit. Mounts on the A-pillar and doesn't require removal of the handle.
The display is quite easy to read, and the intensity is adjustable. It would be kind of nice if it were able to be hooked in to the truck's dimmer but I don't think that this can be done.
It is a digital display so you do actually have to focus on it to read it as opposed to an analog display where you can read the relative position at a glance.
Back to the plus side, it saves the max value reached for each of the three metered items and also flashes if you exceed a user defined alarm threshold. With the optional CES module installed you also have an audible alarm in addition to the blinking display.
I set mine for 1200 deg F so that I'll know that I'm heading into high temps that require more attention. Its only hit that twice, once while towing and once with the SCMT on high performance tune during a sustained hill climb/speed run.
Daryl, how does it attach to the pillar? Also, how big are the "guts" to the display unit? I was pondering how to do an in-dash installation, maybe in the cubby hole or somewhere, fabricating a faceplate that would fit the shape of the cubby. Would the guts of the display fit in that small of a space?
