After riding my 2003 roadking for 5 months I can truthfully say that harley got it right this time......with no problems whatsoever. The only issue I have is why do the frickin tee shirts COST SO MUCH?
Oh yea, why do SOME people treat owning a harley like it's a RELIGION or something.....I mean it's just a motorcycle....ok......stop acting retarded.
....the same reason that there are Ford, chevy, smith wesson, colt, craftsman, matco, burger king, mcdonalds followers...... brand loyalty.....then again with Harleys there is that whole "sub culture" thing going on....congrats on the new Road King.

You own a RoadKing & then saying that it is just a Motorcycle? How can you say that?
It is not just a Motorcycle. It is a way of life. It is the love of your life. It is the only thing that matters in your life. It is your first born and your last born child. It is your Mother & your Father, your Sisiter & Brother. It is there, It will always be there when you need it, And you better need it. It is better then drugs or alcohol.
.....Just had another thought.....brother owns a Road King, and he gives a flip about the cost of the t-shirts, seems I remember when I bought my bike they gave me one free.....how many more do ya need? Im thinking there is a priority malfunction with this one........heh heh heh
Thinks the t-shirts are pricey....wait till the 10k service.....or any dealer service for that matter.............
....Im assuming he's kidding.
Give it 5 years, HD preventative maintenance involves a yearly engine swap after every few years.
..WoW....really?.....I mustva got lucky....11 years and over 60k miles on mine and still going strong....I guess even Harley can get it right.....once....but I'll start pricing engines just in case.............

LOL...
Some people still have that AMF image in their minds. Me, I'm not a Harley type, just not my kind of ride, for the $$$, but, even I have to admit their quality has grown leaps and bounds over what it was back in the days that Harley jackets had pockets big enough for a quart of oil.
He's heard it from 3 dealers, he gets a new (well rebuilt) engine for the 93 every couple years, and the 73 just gets fixed mostly... He was tellin me it was the most economical way to ride them the way he does. He rides about 2.5 hours down here to work every day.
Actually, I don't but the tee shirts and I DO MY OWN MAINTENANCE to save money.
What every owner should do is buy a OEM harley SHOP OWNERS MANUAL and this will direct you on how to take care of it. I did the same for my f150 and I NEVER take it to the dealer for maintenance and It just turned over 201200 miles and still going strong.
