has anyone ever seen clear lights on the front of a 1979 or happen to know of a company that makes aftermarket clear sidemarkers and turnsignals we are looking to get these but have yet to find them any help would be great... thanks
I think he's looking for clear lenses for the turn signals and side marker lights. I haven't seen them. I think they'd look out of place on these old trucks, same with euro taillights. I think I've seen those made just don't think they'd look right.
I dont think I would put Euro's on my old Ford. Seems it would look like a trendy new-age wishiwerea truck.
To each there own though. If you want Euro's, then you get Euro's. Nice to live in a Free Society!
we were just looking to get rid of the amber color lenses up front... not the euros in the back I agree that would look too much like I wanna be a ricer.... how hard do you think it would be to shave the sidemarkers alltogether for a smooth look?
I believe the side markers are relatively inexpensive (if I recall my last J.C. Whitney catalog). It's no big loss if you mess one up experimenting.
Are you moderately patient and moderately skilled at handling plastic and clear plexiglas? I think you could shave your own side marker fixtures and glue in a clear lens. Make sure you have Natural Amber bulbs in place, and it will look relatively normal when you light up at night.
You've lost me, Man. I thought the clear marker lens was a recent fad. I didn't know anyone sold clear markers for a '73-'79 Ford. I can find those side markers in J.C. Whitney for $6.49, but they appear to be amber. I was just thinking a person could carefully remove the amber lens, then glue on a clear lens.
Or you could just leave the truck out in the sunshine for many years, until the lenses fade to clear. I noticed the lenses on my '77 are fading.
